Many of the graduates have been encouraged to focus on preparing dishes that promote Rwanda’s cultural identity, enabling them to create their own jobs, secure employment in hotels and restaurants, or start their own businesses.
The Government of Rwanda continues to promote
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a key pathway for
youth employment. These skills-based programs play an important role in
reducing youth unemployment, particularly for those enrolled in short-term
courses.
According to data published by Rwanda
Polytechnic, 70% of students who completed their studies in 2024 are employed:
59% secured jobs immediately after graduation, 11% continued with further
studies, while 18% started their own businesses.
